„FORCED EXECUTION – NEW DEVELOPMENTS, CHALLENGES, REQUIREMENTS – FILTERED THROUGH ECHR CASE LAW” CONFERENCE
“Acad. Ion Heliade Radulescu” amphitheatre of the Romanian Academy Library
Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at 14 PM
The conference aims to discuss some of the themes concerning the enforcement of judgement in a context where the issues highlighted by the European Court of Human Rights in this matter are meeting with interpretation of the new internal regulations, conducted by renowned experts, academics and practitioners in the field of enforcement.
At the confluence of the 20 years after Romania’s accession to European Convention on Human Rights – marked by numerous convictions suffered by the Romanian state in matters of enforcement of judgement – with the beginnings of a new era of procedural execution regulations, that envision yet many interpretative clarifications which could underpin a truly effective praxis, as a retrospective analysis of the enforcement of judgement practice is required altogether with the purpose to ensure compliance of new regulations with European requirements and standards. The acknowledgement of ECHR case law created on cases against Romania concerning the enforcement procedure gives an objective perspective of how national authorities (the legislative, the executive and the judicial power) have agreed to create and support the required framework suitable for enforcement of judgments and other writs of execution.
On this occasion, the thematic volume „Enforcement. Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights ruled in cases against Romania” (collective authors, Vasile Bozeşan (ed.)), University Publishing House, Bucharest, 2015, will be launched.
